This Schubert collection brings together two CDs of orchestral, chamber and piano works from The Classical Collection. Highlights include the Unfinished Symphony, Trout Quintet, Symphony No. 4 “Tragic”, Impromptus Nos. 1–4 and Moment Musical No. 3, giving a good introduction to Schubert’s lyrical and deeply expressive Romantic style.

The Schumann titles add two further CDs featuring major orchestral and concerto works, including Symphony No. 4, the Rhenish Symphony, Piano Concerto in A minor, Dreaming (Träumerei), and overtures to Manfred and Hermann and Dorothea.
