FLORAL OF FOREVER – Ad Infinitum (1996)

Hailing from Brunei, Floral of Forever was an obscure solo project by M.D. Aslan, also associated with the avant-garde black metal project Noiratasya and the similarly mysterious The Mystickal East. Released in 1996, Ad Infinitum is a five-track recording that explores the atmospheric territory between dungeon synth, dark ambient and experimental black metal, reflecting the more obscure and unconventional side of Southeast Asia's 1990s underground music scene. Featuring compositions such as "Prologue for My Own Obscure Nature", "...As If There Would Be Another Time to Delve", "The Mysteries of It's Great Floras", "...I Am the King of This Isolated Golden Forest" and "...Ad Infinitum", the recording combines primitive synthesiser melodies, medieval-inspired atmospheres, electronic percussion and occasional harsh vocals. Rather than relying on conventional guitar-driven black metal arrangements, Floral of Forever creates its distinctive sound primarily through synthesised instrumentation, moving between haunting instrumental passages and more aggressive, rhythmically driven sections. Running approximately 17 minutes, Ad Infinitum represents a particularly unusual example of early dungeon synth from Southeast Asia, predating the genre's wider underground revival and offering a glimpse into Brunei's little-documented experimental extreme music scene.

This is a pre-owned cassette. Unless stated otherwise, the tape has **not been fully play-tested or professionally cleaned**. Visual inspection shows the cassette and tape to be in generally acceptable condition and it appears playable, but due to the age and nature of used cassettes, playback quality cannot be guaranteed.

If the exposed tape strip appears dusty or dirty, it may require manual cleaning before playback. Experienced cassette collectors will generally be familiar with the appropriate cleaning methods and handling precautions for older tapes.
