Released in 1995 through Atlantic Records, Tales From The Crypt Presents: Demon Knight is the soundtrack to the cult horror film directed by Ernest Dickerson, bringing together an outstanding selection of heavy metal, thrash, industrial rock, hardcore and alternative music from some of the most influential bands of the era. Featuring ten tracks, the compilation includes Pantera's "Cemetery Gates (Demon Knight Edit)", Ministry's "Tonight We Murder", Machine Head's "My Misery", Megadeth's "Diadems", Melvins' "Instant Larry", Rollins Band's "Fall Guy", Biohazard's "Beaten", Sepultura's "Polícia", Filter's "Hey Man, Nice Shot" and Gravediggaz's "1-800-Suicide". Unlike conventional film soundtracks dominated by orchestral scores, Demon Knight delivers a powerful collection of aggressive, dark and atmospheric recordings that capture the heavier side of the mid-1990s alternative music movement. The inclusion of Gravediggaz's horrorcore hip-hop alongside industrial, groove metal and thrash further demonstrates the musical diversity of the period.
