This Liszt collection brings together two CDs of Romantic piano and orchestral favourites from The Classical Collection. Highlights include Piano Concertos No. 1 and No. 2, Liebestraum, Hungarian Fantasia, selections from the Hungarian Rhapsodies, Mephisto Waltz No. 1 and two Consolations, showing both Liszt’s virtuoso piano writing and his dramatic Romantic style.

The Mendelssohn titles add two further CDs featuring symphonic, concerto and chamber works, including the Scottish Symphony, Italian Symphony, Violin Concerto, Wedding March, Songs Without Words and a sonata for violin and piano.
