The Colour of My Love
Released in 1993, The Colour of My Love transformed Dion from a rising singer into a major English-language star.
Her commanding version of “The Power of Love” provides the album’s defining moment, while “Think Twice” became another enormous hit. “Only One Road,” “Next Plane Out,” “Misled” and the title track balance dramatic ballads with brighter pop material. “When I Fall in Love,” recorded with Clive Griffin, appeared in the film Sleepless in Seattle.

The French Album
Known as D’eux in French-speaking territories, The French Album was released in 1995 and written largely by Jean-Jacques Goldman.
“Pour que tu m’aimes encore” is its best-known song, supported by “Je sais pas,” “Destin,” “J’irai où tu iras” and “Les derniers seront les premiers.” “Vole” closes the album with a restrained and deeply emotional performance.
Less extravagant than many of Dion’s English-language releases, it places greater emphasis on melody and storytelling. Essential even for listeners who do not understand French.
These Are Special Times
Released in 1998, These Are Special Times combines traditional Christmas music with original seasonal songs and orchestral arrangements.
Dion delivers powerful versions of “O Holy Night,” “Ave Maria,” “Adeste Fideles” and “The Christmas Song.” “Don’t Save It All for Christmas Day” and “Another Year Has Gone By” are among the strongest original pieces. “The Prayer,” performed with Andrea Bocelli, became a modern standard.
